I recently started posting images on INSTAGRAM. It's a venue that displays a lot of wonderful images without the 'noise' of other social media. Simply follow the people you want to!
I invite you to follow me on INSTAGRAM. The images are often different than what I post on Facebook.

FlashFest, Winnipeg's Annual Photography Festival, begins this Saturday, October 1 and runs through the entire month of October. FlashFest promotes photography, mostly by Manitobans, via a series of events including photography exhibits and a Dodge+Burn Series of Lectures on October 5, 12, 19 and 26. I will be presenting the first lecture of this series called' Photography Is Not Art, or So It Seems'. The lecture series will take place at Photo Central, 957 Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba from 7-8 PM.
An Opening Party is scheduled for Monday October 3rd, 2016 from 8-11pm at Forth (171 McDermot Ave). For a complete list of events, please check the FlashFest website. A printed Program of Events (sponsored by Friesens) is also available at participating venues.
Today I re-launched my website Grandmaison Photography at www.grandmaison.mb.ca I have always liked the ‘look and feel’ of this site but it was ten years old. Because good design transcends time, I kept the ‘look and feel’ of the site but modernized it to accommodate slightly larger images as well as to be mobile friendly. Thank you Scott Parfitt at Smallbox for modernizing the site and to Rob Peters and Adrian Shum (formerly of Circle Design) for the original design.

‘Mike Grandmaison’s ONTARIO’ recently released book will make an exceptional souvenir for anyone looking for a fine memento or gift of their travels to ONTARIO.
“From the ancient mineral deposits of the northern Canadian Shield to the fertile farmlands of the South, Ontario offers a myriad of spectacular landscape that acclaimed photographer Mike Grandmaison expertly captures. His wide-ranging lens covers Ontario’s vast and varied terrain, teeming with plant and wildlife.
Beyond the photographs, Dr. Gerard Courtin provides expert essays on Ontario’s flora, fauna, and geology. Grandmaison’s anecdotes and composition insights in the Stories Behind the Photographs are a fascinating glimpse into the conditions and circumstances surrounding his work.
A vision of riotous colour, grace, and beauty –‘ Mike Grandmaison’s Ontario’.
"Mike Grandmaison's Ontario is my Ontario. Every image in this collection takes me to a place I know, a place I've seen a thousand times, and yet a place I'm seeing as if for the first time. It's the Ontario I see when I close my eyes. Except for an occasional silo or lighthouse, it's the Ontario that has been here for 10,000 years, and now, thanks to these superb photographs, will remain with us for a long time to come." - Wayne Grady
The book may be purchased singly at many fine book stores throughout the province of Ontario and beyond or online. If multiple copies are required, the publisher Turnstone Press can offer a volume discount as well as fulfill your order quickly and efficiently.
Mike Grandmaison's Ontario will make a wonderful keepsake for years to come.
I will be one of 15 speakers presenting at this year's 'Frame By Frame Photo Forum' in Regina from April 13 to 15. The Keynote speaker will be Freeman Paterson, arguably Canada's finest photographic artist. I have been fortunate to take in more than a half dozen of his presentations over the years and I always look forward to attending the next one.
