It was a privilege to be interviewed recently by Vincent Dureau of Radio-Canada (French CBC) about my work and the road I have traveled to get to this stage in my life. Coincidentally, Vincent was also born near Sudbury, in a little village called Levac.
If you have a few moments from your busy schedule, grab a cup of coffee (or glass of wine!) and listen to the hour-long interview en Francais. Un grand merci a Vincent et Radio-Canada!
In a recent post, I mentioned a number of artists who have inspired and influenced me in my current profession as a photographer. Inspiration of course may come at different times in one’s life. In the acknowlegements section of my ‘Georgian Bay’ book (2008), I wrote: “ I am forever grateful to the following:
… Gerard Courtin for writing the introduction to this book and also for sharing with so many of us at Laurentian University over the years your passion about the environment and your enthusiasm for teaching. There is often one teacher who stands out in one’s life and you have been that one for me”. It was also an honour for me to dedicate the book 'Georgian Bay' to Gerard Courtin.

CBC Radio-Canada will be interviewing me tomorrow (Saturday) starting around 9:10 in the morning. I will be chatting with Suzanne Kennelly about the new book 'Prairie and Beyond' as well as about my process and what attracts me to do what I do. The interview will be heard across Western and Northern Canada on the AM station at 10.50 or the FM station at 90.5 on your dial. This will be great practice to tune your ear to the French language!
