I look forward to presenting at this year's 'Word On The Water' Book Festival in Kenora, Ontario on beautiful Lake of the Woods. I will be involved in two different presentations on Saturday.

Room For Readers Saturday, October 26. 10:00 – 11:00 AM

NATURAL REFLECTIONS - Stories Behind The Lens

In this illustrated presentation using some of my most evocative images, I will share my thoughts and approach to photographing the natural world as well as discuss the 'how and the why' behind some of those images.

Room For Writers Saturday, October 26. 3:30 – 4:30 PM

    PROFESSIONALISM 101 - The Not-So-Glamorous Life

I will be joining authors Duncan Weller (Children's Illustrator, Author, Film Maker) and Charles Wilkins (Creative Non-Fiction NY Times Best Seller) in a panel discussion about the reality of working as a professional artist.

Because creating is 'in our blood', as artists we seldom retire. Artists don't like to think about business. All the more reason why artists need to understand the 'business of art'.

I have been very fortunate indeed to have pursued my passion at 'Making A Living At Nature Photography'. Creating images as a lifestyle is a dream for many. However, so many things have changed in the last 5 years.

We need a 'reality check'. I look forward to discussing this topic with my colleagues from different sectors of the 'art industry'.

Come watch a real REALITY SHOW.

    Don't forget ....

Print Exhibition: Mid-show launch. Friday, October 25, 1-3 PM at 'Tangled Tree'

Today is the last day of the Design-Art-Architecture-Expo (DAAX) for 2013. Ella Donnelley of infinite Interiors and I from The Canadian Gallery invite you to visit us at Booth 56 from 12 Noon until 5 PM this afternoon.

DAAX is a very classy show with many exhibits to experience. Exhibitors have put a lot effort into displaying their products for you to enjoy. If you are thinking of renovating or just want to see and experience some great decor ideas, come on down! From great finishing materials to art for the home or office, you are sure to find something to suite your taste. I personally have enjoyed visiting many of the booths and have discovered some great ideas for my own renovation plans. In the process, I have been inspired by some truly amazing art. Additionally, I learned a great deal from the many presentations about art and design.

DAAX, the Design Art Architecture Expo, is now in full swing! Today was 'industry day' set aside for industry professionals to meet, learn and interact with other colleagues. As of 3 PM today until Sunday at 5 PM, the exhibition is now open to the public.

If you are thinking about renovating any aspect of your home or business, come and see us for great ideas. The design professionals are here to help you sort through the large number of choices facing the public today. They will help you select the right materials or design to suit your particular needs - in other words to select the right 'form' to satisfy the intended 'function'.

Come meet artists, interior designers and various industry suppliers and get inspired by their exhibits and products. In particular, I invite you to come to booth 56 to meet Ella Donnelly from 'Infinite Interiors' and myself from 'The Canadian Gallery'. Ella has designed an exquisite space. She has very artfully incorporated my photographs to create an elegant, warm, cozy room full of ambiance. We would love to meet you and chat about your upcoming project.
