'Pisew Falls' - Manitoba Series (Notecard and Photographic Print)

Pisew Falls means ‘lynx’ in the Cree language and the falls were named because the sound of its hissing waters resembles that of a hissing lynx. Pisew Falls is Manitoba’s second highest waterfall, second only to Kwasitchewan Falls further downstream. At Pisew Falls, the Grass River plunges some 13 meters into a gorge.

A short boardwalk leads to several observation platforms providing various views of the falls. A trail leading across the Rotary Bridge on the north side and to the left of the falls provides closer views of these magnificent falls. In winter, the snow accumulates into a towering arch downstream from the falls. Summer or winter, Pisew Falls will please the eye.
