The launch of 'Mike Grandmaison's Prairie and Beyond' at Winnipeg's McNally Booksellers on Monday evening proved to be an overwhelming success. A capacity crowd was on hand for the launch of Mike's latest book, published by Turnstone Press of Winnipeg, ending a 9 event 'book signing tour' throughout Western Canada.

Following a welcoming address by Events Coordinator John Toews and a heartwarming introduction by internationally recognized graphic designer Rob Peters of Circle Design, Mike spoke about the making of this latest portfolio about his adopted home. Jan Volney, distinguished research scientist who recently retired from Forestry Canada, introduces the various chapters.

Along with the book launch, Monday evening also marked the beginning of a month long exhibition of Mike's fine art prints at McNally's Small Works Gallery. The exhibition ends June 3.

'Mike Grandmaison's Prairie and Beyond' is currently listed as No. 2 on the Winnipeg Bestsellers  List (Hardcover Non-Fiction) for the week of May 6, 2012.
