What a fantastic group I had this past August at the Niagara School of Imaging in Ste. Catharines, Ontario. I could not have hoped for a better group of participants as they were all were very helpful and eager to share with others - it felt as if we had all known each other for years. You can tell from the class photo taken on the shore of Beaverdams Creek, at the historic Morningstar Mill a few miles past Brock University where the school takes place every year.
Our group proved to be the largest class this year, all very keen on learning some aspect of "Making A Living At Nature Photography" via class lectures, critiques and outdoor shooting sessions. We experienced some interesting weather on the shores of Lake Ontario as well as at Niagara Falls which provided the particiapnts with challenges but also some excellent learnning opportunities. Below are some of the particpants' images made on this workshop.
I was quite impressed with Rick Bell and Ian Ransberry (2 of the NSI Directors) in particular at how smoothly they made things run. A "BIG Thank You" also goes to Cindy McMillan who chauffeured me around looking for appropriate shooting locations and to Averill Lehan for assisting with the class. The food was very good, the accomodations were comfortable and the camaraderie exceptional.
